during Women's Cross Country Skiing.

We took the kids to their first real Hockey Game tonight.
The CC Tigers vs UND's Fighting Sioux.
We had a blasty.
Thanks to D.Stahl for the tickets!

Here's some science stuff for you:

Olympic Ice Dancing is Weird

February 22, 2010

Song of the Day:
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult -
"A Girl doesn't get killed by a make believe Lover.....Cuz It's Hot"

Watched the Olympic Ice Dancing Free Skate Dance thingy last night.
Wow, that's some odd stuff right there.

On my way into work yesterday, I got stuck behind a Nuclear Waste truck.
I-25 acts as a travel lane between the Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons lab in Northern Colorado
and the disposal facility in New Mexico.
You can always spot the trucks by the giant "Cement Bullets" they are carrying.
Housed inside these cement bullets are either Nuclear Waste, if they are heading south
or Nuclear Fuel for weapons research if they are heading north.
I was heading north.

Pictures of the Day:

February 21, 2010

Song of the Day:
The Sisters of Mercy - Driven like the snow

Pictures of the day:

Just another Saturday at the office....

February 20, 2010

Song of the Day:
Bauhaus - Ziggy Stardust

I had to work today. I'd have rather stayed home and played with the kids in the snow.
Speaking of playing in the now.....
This is going to be our new Winter Toy.
The Brand New 2010 Star Wars Imperial MEGA AT-AT Walker.

Here's the Pilot for this beasty:

Trying to stay lost in the fog.....

February 19, 2010

Songs of the Day:
(One of my top 5 favorite songs of all time)
The Cure - Disintegration

And because I love this song so much,
here is a live version:

Too many things going on. Too tired to try and make funny.
So instead, here is another of my all time favorite songs.
It fits the grey color of the sky and mood of the day
World Famous - Robby's Song

While I don't condone the action, I do understand the feeling

February 18, 2010

Song of the Day:
Nine Inch Nails - Last

A man crashed a plane into an IRS building in Austin Texas as an act of revolt.
Before he took flight, he burned his house down.
He posted online why he was doing this.
The media over the coming days will label him as "crazy".
They will make him out to be a rage filled lunatic.
While I do not condone his actions,
I can understand how he feels.
Click his pic to read in his words, why he did this.
He sounds angry and jaded, yes. But do you think he sounds crazy?
Do you find yourself agreeing with what he has to say?

Now read the "official" reports.
Mark my words; we will be told that he was "Crazy".
Instead of talking about "the why", all we'll hear is
how he is a domestic terrorist or how we need to beef up Homeland Security.
It is doubtful any news agency will actually say something like:

"He was wrong for what he did, but maybe we the people need to take a look
at what we've become and what we have done to ourselves.
Have we, as a society, really reached a point where people need to take such drastic action
in an effort to affect some kind of change?"

Again, I do not think what he did was right in any way shape or form.
But I can empathize with a lot of what he wrote.

"Spoke to the Devil the other day and Johnny's doing fine."

February 17, 2010

Song of the Day
Dog Fashion Disco - Pogo

(I made this cheap little video)

So on the concert front, good news.
Flogging Molly is coming to Colorado in May.
They are playing The Black Sheep in Colorado Springs on Wednesday, May 5th.
And then playing at The Fillmore in Denver on Thursday, May 6th.
I have my tickets to both shows, do you?

Sarah Palin.
I hate her.
She hates "Family Guy".
And, as much as I hate to say this, after last Sunday's episode I agree with her.

I have always been on the fence about Family Guy,
but once they start making fun of people Downs Syndrome, well....
They can go FUCK themselves.
(And if you think it isn't offensive, listen to the lyrics of the song)
Did you hear that Seth MacFarlane? I want you to literally SKULL FUCK YOUR OWN FACE!

Now, Sarah Palin is taking it too personal.
It was only a one line shot at her.
(She didn't get pissed when Rush Limbuttfuck called someone a 'Retard'? WTF?)
The character with Downs was not an attack on her or her family.
I think she is offened for the wrong reason.
She should be pissed as a mother of a child with Downs.
Even if the character with Downs had nothing to do with Sarah Palin,

So, officially, ihatepeacocks.com HATES Family Guy.
(And yes, we still hate Sarah Palin!)
And anyone out there who thinks it's funny to make fun of anyone with Downs or any other disability,

Here's some knowledge for you:

There's no news like...no news

February 16, 2010

Song of the Day:
Nine Inch Nails - everyday is exactly the same

Surfing the headlines today.
There are a few worth while articles, but not many.
I am starting to forget what real News was like.
I hope I can remember long enough so that I can tell my kids what factual based News was like.

Worth While:

Evan Bayh Not Running For Re-Election

Palin Considering 2012 Run, Defends Limbaugh's Use Of 'Retard' On Fox News Sunday

Daft Punk - Revolution 909

From this video, we learn how to make a good pasta sauce and
we also learn that cops are sloppy pigs when it comes to eating.

Song of the Day:
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult - The Days of Swine and Roses

Today, so much going on.
Love is in the 19 degree air and Lovin' is on eveyone's mind.
The Daytona 500 or Rednecks driving in circles.
The Winter Olympics continue.
The NBA All-Star game is tonight in Dallas.
("Texas is the reason that the President's Dead!" - Danzig)
New art from Wooster Collective.
And blah, blah, blah.
Look at the pictures.

New Music and I'm covered in cookies

February 13, 2010

Today's Song of the Day comes from new reader
Agent JB (aka Too Young to be 'The Cat Lady').
Agent JB turned me onto some really great bands.
Guns Up, Crimes in Stereo, and this band,
Have Heart.
Props to you Agent Too Young to be 'The Cat Lady'.
This band rocks!

Song of the Day:
Have Heart - Unbreakable

Look for Agent JB in one of the still shots.

And now, fart jokes via South Park's Canadian Super Duo, T&P:

Taking what they're giving cause I'm working for a living...
or I'm a sucker?

February 12, 2010

Song of the Day:
The Dead Kennedys - Take this job and shove it!

I hate working for The Man.
But then, who the fuck likes it?
No One.
Not even The Man himself.
I need to watch Office Space, Fight Club and American Beauty
and then I'll be able to get back to the grind.
That's a good reset when works gets me down.
Well, that and a few shots of Ol' Number 7!

Let's see, lots of stuff in the world today.
The Winter Olympics kicked off in North Seattle tonight.
One Olympian died before the games officially opened.
I Blame Canada.

Do you live in New York and just broke up with someone
but still have all of their crap?
Is is too painful to look at said crap because it reminds you of how badly your relationship fell apart.
Then have no fear!
There is a new Super Hero in town who can help you out!

And finally, here is a quote from a conversation Agent Mulder, Dusty Nuts and I were having:
"Yeah, so I met my wife at Sex Addicts Anonymous. We just had so much in common."

Loosing all hope is freedom

February 11, 2010

Song of the Day:
Fluke - Kitten Moon

(More than just a book or movie. It is a perspective.)

We don't have a great war in our generation, or a great depression, but we do, we have a great war of the spirit. We have a great revolution against the culture. The great depression is our lives. We have a spiritual depression.
~Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club, Chapter 19

We have to show these men and women freedom by enslaving them, and show them courage by frightening them.
~Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club, Chapter 19

I am the all-singing, all-dancing crap of this world.... I am the toxic waste by-product of God's creation.
~Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club, Chapter 23

...when deep-space exploitation ramps up, it will probably be the megatonic corporations that discover all the new planets and map them. The IBM Stellar Sphere. The Philip Morris Galaxy. Planet Denny's.
Every planet will take on the corporate identity of whoever rapes it first. Budweiser World.
~Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club, Chapter 23

Oooooo, speaking of Space Exploration brought to you by Pepsi,

Carrey Mulligan has been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar for her role
in "An Education".
But before she started turning out top notch performances on the big screen,
she was Sally Sparrow from probably the best Doctor Who episode ever:
So come Oscar Night, you know who I am pulling for!

"Because life is short and you are hot"

Ghost in the Shell meets Sealab 2021.
Two great tastes that go great together.

Well, not much has changed there.

Here are some more goodies from Captain Bobert @ Starfleet Command

I watched the best episode of Gundam tonight.
It was Gundam Seed: DESTINY, episode 32.
There was the typical whinning you'd expect from Gundam Seed,
but the Mobile Suit Battles were the shit!
Kira kicked some ass and finally got back to killing some badies.
Good stuff.

OK, now that I have that out of my system....
Here's my suggestions for today.

Go check out Lazersonic.com for good old fashioned techno.
(This is the guy that made the music for the break dancing Transformer video)
Download 'Goin Off (air recordings)

Next, go to Farmworld.com and sign up someone you hate
to receive a free brocheure about Ranch Vacations & Horse Training in Missouri.
Once they get on this mailing list, they'll never get off.

And finally, go to ThinkGeek.com and check out all the cool shit for your inner geek.
Come on, you know deep down you are a geek or else you wouldn't be on this site to begin with.

Got bit by the art bug or rather,
the art bug crawled up my ass and died.

Song of the Day:
Queens of the Stone Age -

Are ya ready fer sum fooball?
Super Bowl Sunday, woo hoo.
A game that I could give a crap about.
But hey, at least I get to say this at the water cooler this week.
"How about that game? Yeah, it's a miracle the Saints won!"
Ha Ha!
To be honest, unless it's the Browns or the Steelers,
I hate football.

Steve came over and talked about his cooking creations.
Steve also talked about making a commercial about his junk
and hating emo kids that work for the goverment.
We love when Steve comes over.

Song of the Day:
Ani DiFranco -

I love Ani DiFranco.
When I worked as a bouncer, Napoleon was always on the Jukebox almost every night.
Odd considering it was a punk rock, blue collar bar.
But that is how I was exposed to her. Best thing to come out of that job really.
She is one of the greatest independent musicians of all time.
Click this pic to hear another of my favorites from her.
