I scream into the sky
For what its worth on the face of this earth,
I refuse to be denied."

In 173 hours
this happens:

. . . - - - . . . - - - . . . - - -  . . . - - - . . .

I found this picture on the internet.
I know nothing about it other than it was taken in New York somewhere.
It feels perfect for a day like today:

Torchwood: Children of Earth update

We are 3 episodes and it is nail bitting.
This is the best Torchwood ever.
Every episode is a cliffhanger that ends with something more shocking
than the last episode.
I'm glad we're watching this on DVD so we can replay things.
Tonight we're going to watch episode 4 or "Day Four"

God is in his heaven, all is right with the world

June 29, 2009

I had an epiphany today.
I always thought that the song "Holiday Road"
from the National Lampoon's Vacation Soundtrack
was by Kenny Loggins.
But it turns out, it is actually Lindsey Buckingham.
Wow, this changes my whole view of 80s soundtracks.

June 28, 2009

This is what I was looking forward to today.
I hate when the weather man is wrong.
But who knows, the day is not over yet.

June 27, 2009

The Biggest Star Trek Convention in History!
And it is the day after the Underworld show.

June 26, 2009

Grey, cloudy, rainy.
A beautiful overcast day.

While the family was napping, I couldn't resist.
I snuck a look at Torchwood: Children of Earth, since they were
playing all 5 episodes today on the BBC.
I watched 1 and a 1/2 episodes, but then cut myself off.
(It looks like the best Torchwood yet!)
Tonight, all of us are going to watch the US premiere of the more family friendly
Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead.
Funny thing is, both the Torchwood and Doctor Who DVDs arrive on Tuesday.
Thank You Amazon.com.
My wife and I are going to make date nights out of watching each of the 5
new Torchwood episodes this week.
One of the few Sci-Fi shows we both agree on.
Then once the kids are in bed, there' a new True Blood on HBO.
This is our relax and watch TV day.

Here is a movie from long, long ago.
It is starring Agent X and the Roman Commander.
I think this was the debut film for both of them in starring roles.
It was directed by the Award Winning Visionary Director, Joel Smith.

July 23, 2009

Since we were out of town, we missed the first 2 parts of the
"Torchwood: Children of Earth" mini-series.
Not too worried, as the DVD box set will arrive this Tuesday.
Since it is on the BBC every night this week,
I am avoiding temptation to tune in tonight by watching a movie I haven't seen in a while.
I had forgotten just how good this one was.

July 22, 2009

Day 3, our camera broke.
We were all sore and tired from Day 2.
We called it even and came home early.
We all cleaned off for hours.

While we were away, the nice UPS man left us a gift.
So after the kids went to bed, we were the ones who watched the Watchmen.

July 21, 2009

Day 2 was great.
We did a lot, saw a lot and had a lot of fun.

Mary's Lake just before dawn

Our campsite bunny

Getting back to nature

"Damn you giant Mountain Mosquitoes!"

July 20, 2009

With all our "goings on" lately (Spinal Injuries, Doctor visits,
"procedures", pain, doctor bills, the pain of paying those doctor bills, college registration)
We decided to get out of town and start our annual
Estes Park trip today.
It was either that or put it off until September.
We needed to get away from the world and have family time.
Day 1 was great.

On the Road

While on the way, I figured out why the economy has gone to shit.

End of the Night

July 19, 2009

A very busy "non-busy" day.
We did all of our prep work for our big escape.
The day ended with my family meeting a friend from work's family at Monument Lake for fishing & picnicing.
Mother Nature cut the night short with rain and lightning.
But All and All a nice time.
Came home to another Porch Bug.
Think this is a June Bug?

July 18, 2009

A Porch Beetle:

July 17, 2009

The family and friends went to a baseball game followed by fireworks.
My spine hurt, but it was really nice to go out and do something with everyone.
It was a good time for all.

"Damn it Jim, I'm a Doctor not a Short Stop!"

"I like the pretty lights"

July 16, 2009

My porch has become a bug observatory.
Here is a spider and its dinner:

July 15, 2009

The waiting is over.
Went to see "Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince"
It was a great movie considering I didn't like the book that much.
The imagery in this movie is dark and beautiful.
It was one of the better movies in the series.
I don't want to give anything if you haven't seen or read it yet.
But the Half Blood Prince is revealed and that person kills a major character.

"You dare use my own spell against me?"

July 11, 2009

The media just won't drop the Michael Jackson death coverage.
So, to help remind you he is dead, Agent X made this for us all:

July 10, 2009

I was offline today while people poked around inside my spine.
And it really hurt.

July 9, 2009

Today I wish I had a body built by the MegaTech corporation.
I could simply transfer my "ghost" from this body to my new "shell".
I would no longer need a doctor, just a good mechanic.
I could be come invisible, jump from rooftop to rooftop and rip the lids off of tanks.
I wouldn't even need a computer to connect to the web.
Eventually I could leave my shell behind and move my ghost into the web.
And then wreak some real havoc.

I was alone, falling free, trying my best not to forget.

July 8, 2009

I did some Physical Therapy today.
And not much else.
I’ve had Placebo's "Meds" stuck in my head.
Seems appropriate, all things considered.

"Baby, did you forget to take your meds?"

"And I looked down upon my new dominion as Master of all;
and I thought it good."

July 7, 2009

I really didn't too much today.
Well, except sleeping.
While I slept, The Fam went to the Denver Aquarium.

July 6, 2009

Updated the Stupid Bird section.
Just to clarify my postition on the subject.
&
Also added a few new pics in the Photos section.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just finished Chuck Palahniuk's Pygmy.
"The Manchurian Candidate meets South Park"
Not my favorite of his but still really good.

"Begins here first account of operative me, agent number 67 on arrival

My back hurts.
You know what it feels like today:

Yep, that really hurts

July 4th, 2009

OK, Bill Pullman aside.

Enjoyed a wonderful family day.
Found a big beetle at the Post Office.
A trip to Woodland Park (Donut Mill Baby!) A Beautiful drive in the mountains.
Playing with Doctor Who toys in the backyard with my son and painting & drawing with my daughter.
Friends came over for a cookout and we ate some nice tasty food from the grill.
Also got to catch up with Kim-Kim and Steve "BNSF" the Wheelman.
2 of my favorite folks that I just haven't got to see much of lately.
We then all hopped into the Pilot and drove up to the Hollywood Theaters' parking lot.
Went there because it was a choice spot to view the Air Force Academy's fireworks show.
We got there early and it was cold, cloudy and rainy. So the kids and ladies had a "camp out" in the car.
Steve and I smoked outside and talked "Man Speak".
Then, the Cousins met us there just in time for the skies to clear and the fireworks to begin.
All the kids together having fun and all of us adults had fun just being together.
Saw some great fireworks.
Plus we could see all the way up to Monument's display and all the way down to Manitou & Fort Carson's display.
Came home, put the kids down and then relaxed with the wife on the couch watching some TV.
Seriously, my favorite day this summer so far.
Here's some pics:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On this day, let us remember the great words of President Bill Pullman:

"Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. "Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day! "

He then went on to kick alien ass until he ran out of missles.

July 3, 2009

HOLY SHIT!
Talk about Christmas in July.
Sarah Palin just quit!
"You Betchya"
As of the end of this month, she is no longer in charge of the largest state.
That makes America a lot safer!

Via Con Dios!

July 1, 2009

For months I have suffered.
I have been deprived of something. Something so powerful, that without it
I have not been complete.
But today, that something has returned to me and made me whole once again.
For Father's Day, my bad ass wife and rockin' kids gave me money to buy my a brand new iPod.
It has arrived and I have been set free!
